I've deleted this from the lead. Although this is probably literally true, depending on the meaning of "had" and "publications," it is POV, and gives the article the character of a PR bio or the dust jacket blurb on a book. Bromley's scientific career was from 1952 to 1989. (After 1989 he was in politics and then scientific administration, but was not actively doing research.) During this period of 37 years, to publish 500 papers he would have had to publish more than one paper a month. This is obviously impossible. In fact his name was on the vast majority of these papers because, as director of WNSL at Yale, he used his political power to get his name put on every paper that came out of the lab, whether he contributed to the science or not.--75.83.69.196 (talk) 03:40, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
