Move

[edit]

Concerning removement of the Dōjinshi to Dojin redirect:

Hello;

It's been a while I've been watching this page, and I've finally decided to say and do what I have to today.

As it's stated in the introduction of the Dojinshi article, Dojins arent restricted to comic books/mangas. Basically every medias are covered by doujin releases, such as games, music and videos. I am myself a Doujin Music amateur and feel having the general term Dojin linking to this Dojinshi entry, and the Dojin Soft one would be by far more logical. As a matter of fact, Doujinshi (同人誌) is a sub category of Doujin (同人). Doujin Music would be 同人音楽.

I hope it's ok for me to take such an step and that everyoen will understand and agree with my reasoning.

This needs to be moved to Dojin to conform to Wikipedia:Manual of Style (Japan-related articles) and to be consistent with Dojinshi. DopefishJustin (・∀・) 05:41, May 21, 2005 (UTC)

This article has been renamed as the result of a move request. Was at Doujin. violet/riga (t) 19:18, 26 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

"Like American fan fiction, dōjin is often pornographic in nature, usually depicting the author's sexual fantasies about the characters in the original work that the dōjin is derived from." Isn't that a bit of a widesweeping generalization? While there is all sorts of "smutfic" running around in fan fiction, I think it's unfair to say that either fan fiction or dōjin are "often pornographic"...That said, I can't think of a different way to phrase it.

This article is complete demagoguery. "Doujin" (同人)means persons who have the same interests, and has a wide usage. It is untrue to say that Doujin is "the Japanese term for unofficial derivative works". The proper usage would be "同人雑誌" (doujin zasshi) for magazines and 同人ソフト(doujinsofuto) for video and computer games.

H Dōjin

[edit]

"H Dōjin,or "hentai", is a form of hentai which is sexually explicit in nature." Huh? What hentai ISN'T sexually explicit? 75.153.231.20 01:16, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

After the bit of linkspam earlier, I decided to go through and check out other external links and make sure they comply with Wikipedia:External links. I've determined that Doujinshi Online, Passion, and Doujinshi DB all comply with external link policies. However Ultimate Anime Doujinshi is a retail outlet that sells dojinshi doesn't comply with external link policies and has been removed. --Farix (Talk) 15:48, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

DōjinDoujin – Since the word "同人/dōjin" is commonly romanized as "doujin", I believe this article should be renamed in courtesy towards WP:COMMONNAME and the "Determining common usage" section of WP:ROMAJI... 69.160.29.222 (talk) 04:38, 8 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. While it's certainly unusual to enforce one particular romanization, the macron-less ou version is certainly the one I've always seen used in English. It's a borderline word in that it's a Japanese word but one with consistent usage in English, so a "common name" type argument is reasonable here.
