Opinions

[edit]

I removed this section as it was terribly POV. Fergananim (talk) 06:26, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Admitted. But the point was anti-POV, hence the section title. Maybe instead of deleting it you could edit your own gatherings in? DinDraithou (talk) 06:57, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Over-categorisation

[edit]

why does the article need any category other than its eponymous category? The eponymous category is the best place for all the other categories. Laurel Lodged (talk) 20:10, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Is the history of the Dál gCais identical to the history of County Clare? I don't think so. The same with Tipperary and Limerick. The Banner talk 21:54, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If that's what you believe, then why did you add the county categories to the article? Laurel Lodged (talk) 20:15, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
"part of" The Banner talk 21:16, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, then was a little too sublime for my intellect. Can you elucidate please? Or answer the first question even? Laurel Lodged (talk) 19:29, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I just filed a request with a administrator to see if your edits are allowed under your topic ban. I am not sure... The Banner talk 00:18, 20 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This was similar to the change that was the initial topic of discussion that led to the topic ban (the category was just "County Tipperary" in the article), but if county categories are there at all they should be the history subcategories. There are at least three options for dealing with eponymous categories, is there consensus somewhere to change from one of those options to another? Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 6 external links on Dál gCais. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}).

This message was posted before February 2018. After February 2018, "External links modified" talk page sections are no longer generated or monitored by InternetArchiveBot. No special action is required regarding these talk page notices, other than regular verification using the archive tool instructions below. Assessment comment

[edit]

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Dalcassians/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

Why ahould this article be assesed by Wikiproject Former Countries. Quote: "The Dál gCais (also Dal Cais; IPA: [d̪ɑːɫ gaʃ]) were a dynastic group of related septs located in north Munster, ..." This is about a dynasty/clan - not about a country as a geographical/political entity. Finnrind 15:35, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox issue

[edit]

If this is really to be regarded as a "tribe", as it currently says in the lead section, then it ought to apply Template:Infobox tribe. However, if not, it would be convenient if infobox and lead section terminology ("clan", not "tribe") was harmonised. Chicbyaccident (talk) 17:54, 31 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
