Artists referenced

The "Ethnicity" section is full of generalizations and plain factual errors. I am not sure one can faithfully explain the racial and ethnic make-up of a country in a paragraph, but still i'll try to rephrase it a bit. And just to be clear, the "atlantic railroad" constructed in the last three decades of the 19th century was not built by slaves. Slavery was abolished three years after independence in the whole Central America (1824). In colonial times (1502-1821) there was a relatively important forced migration of african slaves into the region, and they were also important for the cocoa production in Matina, but most of the people that later populated the actual province of Limon are descendents of free workers that came from the english-speaking caribbean (mainly Jamaica, but also St. Vincent, St. Kitts, etc.) at the end of the 19th century.

'National attitude'

What's with this generalizing piece? It reminds me of this textbook from the 19th century in which the Dutch are an 'industrious race' and 'Chinese children are very obedient to their parents'.

There is an error in the first section, second paragraph, where it speaks of a language used in Limon called Maketelyu but it's actually spelled (either or)'Mekatelyu' or 'Mekatelya', the 'e' and 'a' are in the wrong order. The name of the language comes from broken english 'mek a tell ya' (may i tell you)201.202.66.58 (talk) 04:22, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

Also may be useful to note that 'Salsa Lizano' is actually a Costa Rican version of 'Worcestershire Sauce', the recipe is basically the same, but the seasoning is adjusted to Costa Rican taste in spices. Just saying it's a condiment sounds mysterious, with a negative connotation. Plus, Lizano is the name of the brand (they also make other sauces, spices and condiments), this could be misinterpreted as prduct placement or free advertising. We call other brands of 'salsa lizano' simply 'salsa inglesa' or 'english sauce' as a reference to it's similarity to worcestershire sauce.201.202.66.58 (talk) 04:30, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

The caribbean version of 'gallo pinto' that uses coconut milk and panamanian chilies eaten in the Limon province is known locally as 'rice-and-beans', in english, as the plate was named by the english speaking black immigrants during the construction of the railway, people who don't speak english call it 'raisanbins', phonetically, rice and beans all compressed into a single word and it is considered a completely different dish, not a variation of gallo pinto, ticos don't even see them as two related things, one thing is 'gallo pinto' and another very different thing is 'rice-and-beans'201.202.66.58 (talk) 04:41, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

Spam

Several people have started to include links in specific words or to write short phrases in this article to promote their Web site. This is a problem that I recently have detected and unfortunately is increasing in wikipedia. To be honest it's becoming quite annoying and can ruin this great Web site. I deleted the promotional links but these people are persistent. I kindly ask the moderators to keep an eye on these spammers and to watch out for these kind of links. Cuisine

The Caribean part of Costa Rica, have a LOT of local disches, and Rice and Beans from Limon, is VERY dirent to the GalloPinto. TOTALLY diferent.
