Only one is ever PROVEN to exist. And although it's a hybrid of a hybrid and normally such a creature would be placed under the same article of the original hybrid (i.e. li-liger and ti-liger would be placed under an article for liger), the Congolese Spotted Lion has received enough public attention to merit its own article.

Added information from The Times and The Field (by permission Messybeast, licensed under GFDL). Replaced deleted contextual information and photo (photo deleted erroneously?) - does not duplicate other pages and is needed to summarise the interfertility of lions with other species and to define the cross breeds mentioned in The Tinmes and The Field. The taxidermy specimen at Tring appears to be the actual Congolese Spotted Lion that was exhibited in London as no lion/jaguar hybrids extant at that time.
