Improving this article

[edit]

Great work on this article thus far. The biggest thing to fix is the proper use of citations. Where is the online mentor?Jaobar (talk) 21:58, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The online mentor has been in contact with all three students, but again, with only one student making edits to the page, the mentor is probably working on other articles until there is action on the page. - NeutralhomerTalkCoor. Online Amb'dor23:07, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I would like the mentor to help the students fix the citations please. Jaobar (talk) 21:01, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have posted to PrincessofLlyr's talk page. If you need immediate assistance, please let me know. - NeutralhomerTalk03:21, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Posted on David's page with some suggestions, particularly regarding the citations. I could work on the article some myself as an example, but I wasn't sure how much you wanted the mentors working on student articles. Note that previous discussion of the article and changes to it has occurred, most recently here, but some of the suggested improvements may not have been clear enough on my part. Feel free to make edits to articles in the main space, this is obviously what WP is about. That being said, I wouldn't make all the changes if I were you ... pointing David in the right direction is what I would recommend. Thanks so much.Jaobar (talk) 15:49, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merger

[edit]

Great article. However, is this actually a merger. It remains a joint venture with General Electric as the junior partner. Also, Comcast maintains the venture under a newly formed holdings company according to 10k SEC fillings, thus it is inherently double shielded from main Comcast operations. Just to be clear however, I'm not sure that I am right about the terminology. Just throwing it out there for now. Unless anyone can confirm my claim, just leave it alone. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AH-64 Longbow (talkcontribs) 16:07, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

NOTABLE?

[edit]

I'm not sure why this article discusses the Comcast-NBCU merger in great detail; shouldn't this be in the Comcast article itself? Fairly OddParents Freak (Fairlyoddparents1234) C 21:50, 1 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Perfectly notable. This is one of the biggest media deals in history, and the resulting corporation *was/is* the biggest media company in history. If Togepi gets an entry, the goddamn Comcast-NBC merger better... I'm not just being facetious though, the subject is absolutely notable and if anything, we could use more info on it. The subject should certainly come up in the Comcast article, but we can describe it in greater detail here. Comcast is already too long anyway, and could use even more of its content being split off into subarticles. For now I am removing the merger tag. 15:16, 5 March 2014 (UTC)Mxheil (talk)

Name change request

[edit]

I read the article Mergers and acquisitions and discovered that NBCUniversal was acquired by Comcast and did not actually merge with it from a legal standpoint. I am requesting that either I or someone else move the article from Comcast NBC merger to Comcast NBC acquisition. I plan on doing this on Thursday if nobody has any issues with me doing so, unless someone beats me to it or someone says that they don't want the name change unless there is a consensus to do so.
