A rare disease

[edit]

Reciprocal translocations between chromosomes 22 and 17, at sites where Platelet-derived growth factor subunit B gene and that for COL1A1 are located, are associated with a particular type of skin tumor called dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans resulting from unregulated expression of growth factor.

The above translocation ,as mentioned, cause a disease due to unregulated growth factor. However I don't now if collagen type I (encoded by the COL1A1 gene) ever affected ?
