Support - this isn't just "Montreal English" (70.24.251.x) but English. English and "English Wikipedia" do use French accents for French terms. 70.24.251.x 's link to the Montreal Gazette actually has "Collège Montmorency" not Montmorency College, yes, but we'd do the same if the college was in London, or Paris or wherever and had this name. - Comment, I'm requesting that you stop adding diacritics to this article's content, while it's got a non-diacritics title. By adding dios to the content, it appears as though you're attempting to influence this RM's result. If the article does get 'moved' to diacritics? then you can add them.   - GoodDay. Is this addressed to P.T. Aufrette or myself or any 3rd editor who may revert your removals next? This article has had French accents in the French names in the lede since 2006. you removed French accents and cedilla from "CÉGEP" "Collège" "François Allard" and "Collège" here and have been reverted twice.   Collège Montmorency is a CEGEP (in French the acronym is written as a non-uppercase word, i.e., cégep), and at one time its name may have been Cégep Montmorency. There is a history of other CEGEPs changing their title in this way, for instance Cégep Gérald-Godin became Collège Gérald-Godin; it is still a CEGEP but the word isn't used in its name anymore. The standard practice for English usage within Quebec is to just give the names of francophone educational institutions as-is, so for instance Université de Montréal is written that way in English (and is pronounced in the French way, including the "Montréal" part of it, rather than the usual English pronunciation of "Montreal"). I doubt that you'd see "Montmorency CEGEP" used at all, especially since its name no longer includes "CEGEP" (or cégep). — P.T. Aufrette (talk) 16:10, 9 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
