I don't think the image gives the arms of the City of York - that is a stylised version of the arms used by the City Council as a logo. I'm pretty sure the Council never got the official grant of arms changed.

If the arms are official from the College of Arms, they belong to York City Council, not the district. The caption should indicated this. MRSCTalk 08:54, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
