When was it created? (Answer: 1934)

[edit]

It would be nice if this article stated when Churchill was split off of Wilkins Township. According to the article "A History of Churchill" by Lottie Olen in the Churchill Borough phone directory (viewing the 2000-2004 edition), the borough seceded from Wilkins on January 1, 1934. 2601:545:8201:6290:311B:839:B256:B5C7 (talk) 04:47, 15 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

N.B. An earlier article in the Churchill Borough phone directory, "Churchill Chronicle" by Doris H. Fields, which appeared at least as early as circa 1970, until the 1980 edition, states "Ordinance Number Five, August 14, 1934, sets January 1, 1934 as the official date of the Borough's formation." So the "official date" of January 1 was established after the fact. After 1980, a new article, "The Borough of Churchill" by Theodora Skarlis, appeared once, in the 1984 Directory, and then "A History of Churchill" by Lottie Olen began appearing with the next edition in 1989. Neither later article mentions the Ordinance dated August 14. 2601:545:8201:6290:311B:839:B256:B5C7 (talk) 07:49, 15 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
