Who was Arthur Brooks?

[edit]

"honorary pallbearers were such prominent Washingtonians as Arthur Brooks, Daniel Murray, Whitefield McKinlay, and Judge Robert H. Terrell. The participation by the National Guard, and by Arthur Brooks in particular, was an appropriate recognition of the most significant aspects of Fleetwood's career." It would be nice to know why Mr Brooks' participation accorded particular recognition to Sgt Major Fleetwood's funeral. Brooks is the sole individual named who does not link to a wikipedia article and I haven't been able to nail down who he was - perhaps someone could elaborate? The relevant text of the cited article from which the pallbearer info was derived actually reads "Those acting as honorary pallbearers at Fleetwood’s funeral included his fellow officer MAJ Arthur Brooks, and prominent Washingtonians Daniel Murray, Whitefield McKinlay and Judge Robert H. Terrell". The contributor juxtaposed the info to include Arthur Brooks as a prominent Washingtonian. He may, in fact, have been such, but I can't find any data on him that indicates such. So, I'm going to modify the sentence to give Mr Brooks his due military title, in line with the reference's description. Irish Melkite (talk) 09:24, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
