Section on controversies/alleged bias
[edit]Following a series of controversial incidents involving Broad and related media coverage, a new section was needed to cover these incidents and controversies which have attracted widespread attention in the print and broadcast media.
I am fully aware of issues concerning BLP. Therefore, the new section was written carefully to emphasise that bias has been alleged, not proven. This is not one or two incidents, nor is it one or two disgruntled players or fans making these allegations - this is several current players as well asleading figures in the history of the game making allegations, including Sunil Gavaskar and Javed Miandad, following a series of incidents concerning Broad's officiating in international matches. These incidents and allegations have received widespread international press coverage, and I have added several sources in the article.
What is abundantly clear is that these issues cannot be swept under the carpet - they must be addressed in a sensitive way which respects the rules concerning BLP - which is what I have had to do.
Please do not vandalise/delete the section. To compromise I will remove the reference to 'racism' (even though this has been alleged on many occasions), and stress that Broad has denied allegations of bias made against him on several occasions.

I disagree and would argue the section you added should be deleted. Players in a game complaining the ref is biased is commonplace. And the sources you give don't particularly single out Broad among other referees. I'd also suggest that if you really have the courage of your convictions, you wouldn't post anonymously.
