The tone of this article is deeply problematic. The article raises many good points, but they are not articulated properly, and the statements are not supported by sources. In particular, I feel compelled to delete the entire "Inter-ethnic Relations" section because the terms "half-breed, "Chinese Negro," and "Chinese purity" are highly offensive. What the deleted section says is more or less true, but the terminology is not appropriate and does not reflect the language of the source literature on the topic. The deleted section also seems argumentative, and I don't think it belongs in an encyclopedia article. The previous "Ethnic Identity" section is enough for explaining the racial situation in the Delta. Winston Ho 何嶸 (talk) 00:04, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
"All of them were single and married men who worked in Mississippi" is confusing. Either "single and married" must be removed as unnecessary, or the citation source must be consulted to rule out the remote potential that the subject group was entirely comprised of single women who married Mississippians. In either case, the quest for accuracy dictates consultation of the source to determine whether, in fact, the subject group contained couples or families at the outset.
