Logo needed

[edit]

This article needs an official logo. This upload request points to this logo, but I did not see a stand-alone version of this logo on the organization's official web site.

If this or another official logo can be found on a current official publication, it should be uploaded. If the image is under copyright, it should be downscaled to the size of an info-box before being uploaded (see WP:FAIRUSE for details).

It is better to have no logo than to have one that cannot be traced to a current official publication. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 20:42, 17 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because:

  • It represents a specific regional variant of an existing international organisation, namely Childline.
  • The organisation receives widespread regional (South African) media attention, and is considered notable within South Africa. I can provide additional references to radio and TV broadcasts, and as newspaper articles if this helps to support the notability of the organisation.
  • The organisation directly impacts regional legislation, and is directly supported by South African governmental departments, as well as by international organisations such as Google, UNICEF and CHI, as indicated in the references. Furthermore, the article specifically describes the organisation's role in relation to these humanitarian organisations.

I don't see how the entire article is considered unambiguously promotional. Certainly one or two sections could potentially be construed as promotional, and could do with a rewrite (or removal of the offending text), but surely not the entire article? I've already tried to only include references to reputable sources such as notable international organisations. If there's anything in particular that screams "promotional advertising", please indicate which sections so that I may clean them up and remove the offending content.

[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... this page went through an WP:AFC review process. If there is promotional material there or if it has grown to become too promotional, this can be handled by editing or through a discussion at AFD. Note that there are other articles about other-country ChildLine organizations. Any AFD which does not treat them like a group should explain why this one is being singled out. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 23:43, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Non-independent web sites

[edit]

http://www.childhelplineinternational.org is the web site of an umbrella organization which this organization is a part of. References from it should not be considered independent. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 21:34, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
