The "welding" of the Phoenix plate fragment onto Antarctica c.80 Mya coincides with the rupture of the Farallon plate, off the coast of North America (California), with the more northerly Kula plate re-directing into a northerly direction. 66.235.38.214 (talk) 00:35, 29 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
