Deleted characters
[edit]Im a bit annoyed because for no apparent reason somebody has deleted a lot of the characters from the list of crash bandicoot characters page. I also stated if the secondary and minor characters were good, bad or neutral. For some reason somebody has deleted that too, I hope when I put this back on, somebody will not delete the content again. This page is far more accurate than the box of crash characters as on the box it shows alot of the characters in the wrong category, such as willie wumpa cheeks being neutral when he is actually bad.
Add new charcter descriptions
[edit]It would also be good if somebody could add pictures and character descriptions to the characters that have not got an article.
Characters
[edit]I have two suggestions to put here.
- #1 is: I have read the article that discusses the Titans (from Crash of the Titans ), and there seems to be a section in that article that talks about three or four Minions. That article was written just for the Titans, so the Minions section in the article should not even be there. Maybe it should be moved to this article: List of Crash Bandicoot Characters. That would make a lot more sense.
- #2 is: If anyone has some pictures of any of the characters listed in the article, then they should be put in.

Merge Articles
[edit]The articles should be merged with this one.Intellegent9876522 (talk) 12:13, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- I wouldn't count on it just yet. The Crash Bandicoot series, having sold over 40 million units, is pretty popular and to an extent major, and according to Wikipedia:Deletion policy/Minor characters, major characters from major works deserve their own articles. We'll have to see what the others have to say about this. However, I do think the Titans and Crunch Bandicoot should be merged for now since they haven't appeared in enough games to be considered major (four main series games as of Titans, five when the eighth main game is announced). Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 13:36, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- That page is very old and out of date (as noted by the historical tag). The status of the characters in the series has nothing to do with the necessity of having articles on them. Only the creation and reception information has anything to do with it (as per WP:FICT). If it isn't obtained for any of the characters, even Crash doesn't need an article. I have to imagine Crash and Cortex at least have the potential, but I wouldn't say that it is definite or anything. I would definitely start searching if you haven't already. TTN (talk) 13:50, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- Well, the list of Crash Bandicoot characters is getting too big as it is (There's less than 70 characters in the entire series). I was thinking we split the page into a Major characters in Crash Bandicoot and Minor characters in Crash Bandicoot article just in case. Each of the nine major characters (Crash Bandicoot, Aku Aku, Coco Bandicoot, Doctor Neo Cortex, Doctor N. Gin, Tiny Tiger, Uka Uka, Dingodile, and Doctor Nitrus Brio) have plenty of info on them, so I don't think it's entirely improbable. Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 14:28, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- There is definitely a lot of trimming and reformatting that should go on before a split is deemed necessary. I would imagine that a final polished product with every character merged shouldn't go too far above 50KB. Those characters have in-universe information, but that rarely translates into having real world information. It's not impossible, but it's also not likely for anything below Crash and Cortex, and it's not even set in stone for those two. I definitely suggest that you spend some time trying to build reception sections for them. TTN (talk) 14:34, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

I agree with the merging. -- Magioladitis (talk) 17:11, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
I strongly support a merge of all the character articles into this one. Randomran (talk) 04:38, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- This article's already too big to take that much information. I'm still going with my "Major characters in Crash Bandicoot article" idea. Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 10:40, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Perhaps we should wait for Mind Over Mutant to come out, see who appears, then decide how best to seperate the characters. As I see it, there are two sorts of characters: Mainstream and Spin-Off. Furthermore, Mainstream characters can be split into being either major or minor.CBFan (talk) 10:42, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- I propose that we merge the Crunch Bandicoot article and give Brio his own article for now. If Crunch does in fact appear in the upcoming Mind Over Mutant, then he can go back to having his own article. If Brio doesn't appear in the platformer game after Mind Over Mutant (which would be the 8th in the series), then he'll be re-merged into the list. I think that sounds pretty reasonable. Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 13:22, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
After much thought about the subject, I have decided that without sufficient real-world information, none of the major characters of the series constitute their own articles, though I find that they've appeared in so much video games that if they were merged into the main list, the article would become too large. Thus, I split the list into two articles dedicated to the major and minor characters of the series. Nothing personal. It's just business. Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 02:02, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
Titans
[edit]Since the Titans page got deleted, can I add a reference to them on this page or is it going to get deleted from prejudge of mario fanboys as well? Kobb (talk) 21:13, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure the page got deleted because the Titans aren't major enough characters to constitute their own article yet; they only appeared in two games out of the seven main games in the series. Besides, we don't want the Crash Bandicoot pages to end up like those horrid Sonic the Hedgehog pages. Again... Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 21:21, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
- Then why do one-off characters such as the Park Drones get included on this page? They didn't contribute to the story so they're hardly notable, but apparently they are still important enough to get a mention. 69.24.125.144 (talk) 01:56, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Because they interact with Crash in a significant manner in that they give Crash Power Crystals and costumes. And I think it's the fact that they all have a distinct personality that helps. But that's beside the point. The fact is that we need to limit the number of characters who have their own articles to those who have appeared in more than half the main series games (that'd be four and up games out of seven at the moment). Any characters who have appeared in less games than that or have only appeared in spin-offs shall be kept in the list. Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 02:36, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

But that makes no sense! Zam and Zem are mentioned in the article, yet characters that appear as primary focuses in two games don't get a mention.
Actually, it says on the To-do list that we should merge the Titan page onto the article, so I'll go ahead and give them a mention since it says that up there. Kobb (talk) 03:08, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
- In that case, just put the "Titans" section between "Koala Kong" and "Evil Crash". And keep it short, alright? Just a general overview of the Titans as a whole. Don't need a list of each individual one, anyways. Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 03:50, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
Any reason it has to go right there? It seems a bit of a random spot, as I thought the list when down from order of appearance. Kobb (talk) 04:03, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, the list goes down from how many appearances the character has. For example, Ripper Roo is below Doctor Nefarious Tropy since he's had less appearances. Rather simple. Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 12:59, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
Carbon Crash?
[edit]Uh, I was wondering if Carbon Crash should be mentioned...? --Yowuza ZX Wolfie 11:25, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think so. As far as I can see, he's not really a separate character with his own personality and background. He's just Crash colored differently, and his only purpose is to act as a character a second player in Crash of the Titans and the PS2 version of Crash: Mind over Mutant can play as. Speedy deletion: NO!
