Propose to rename to Black Soil
[edit]Why Black Earth and not Black Soil? Russian Чернозём (chernozem, chernozyom) is related to the highly fertile soil of the region. To call it Black Soil region will be unambiguous while "Earth" has many other meanings.Alon 68 (talk) 14:06, 25 June 2014 (UTC)
- The article is not about the soil (which is better known in English as "chernozem" anyway); it's about an economic region. And the economic region is predominantly known in English as "Central Black Earth", not "Central Black Soil". The latter variant should probably be mentioned in the article as it is a valid, albeit rare, alternative, but to move the article to that title wouldn't make a whole lot of sense.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); June 25, 2014; 14:31 (UTC)
