Series number
[edit]It isn’t the twentieth series overall
And Where it says ‘The twentieth series of Big Brother overall’ Big Brother should be in italics

Male Housemates
[edit]After viewing the source added to the housemate section, how are we sure there definitely will be eight male housemates entering on Friday? It would make sense for eight to enter, but we don't have definitive evidence. There may be eight spaces left on the CBBBOTS back panel but we have had blank spaces before for later contestants. Crazylawrence (talk) 23:12, 2 January 2018 (UTC)
- It was announced last night that 8 would be joining them. Then Rylan announced that one of them would be John Barnes. I will add a source to reflect this. From Digital Spy: "Eight male housemates, including former footballer John Barnes, will enter the house on Friday (January 5)." ThisIsDanny (talk) 13:53, 3 January 2018 (UTC)
Title
[edit]Should also known as, Year of the woman be in brackets or should it have a comma like previous series.ChristmasCrackers (talk) 05:05, 3 January 2018 (UTC)
Courtney or Shane J?
[edit]His name is Shane, the BB website credits him as Shane. He should be listed as Shane. Other users understand, IPs don't though. http://bigbrother.channel5.com/housemate/shane-jenek ThisIsDanny (talk) 22:19, 5 January 2018 (UTC)
She is known as Courtney Act everywhere. She is never knows as Shane. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1008:B166:6D50:2496:BB2C:6277:CC59 (talk) 22:41, 5 January 2018 (UTC)
- Not denying Courtney is the most common name, but in here he is credited as Shane. His official profile is a picture of Shane, not Courtney. ThisIsDanny (talk) 22:58, 5 January 2018 (UTC)
It just doesn’t make sense to call him Shane when no one calls him Shane. He calls himself Courtney Act. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1008:B166:6D50:2496:BB2C:6277:CC59 (talk) 23:13, 5 January 2018 (UTC)
If there wasn't an official housemate list then I'd say use Common Name but since there is an official website then I'd use what's listed there. What are they known by in the house (what the other houseguests call them)??? TheDoctorWho (talk) 01:49, 6 January 2018 (UTC)- The first paragraph in the official website states "Shane Jenek is an Australian performing artist and is best known for working under the stage name Courtney Act." so it uses both Shane Jenek and Courtney Act although the header says Shane. So I'd use what their called in the house or put Shane "Courtney Act" Jenek and use it as a nickname. Or the alternative is to use what's listed at WP:NICKNAME (yes I know it's about article names but) it clearly states "The name used most often to refer to a person in reliable sources is generally the one that should be used as the article title, even if it is not the person's "real" name, and even if it appears to pass judgement on the person" TheDoctorWho (talk) 01:56, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
- We've always gone off what they're credited as on the show. For example, in Celebrity Big Brother 18 (UK) Stephen Bear was simply credited as Bear and Colin Newell was credited as Heavy D, which are their nicknames (stage names) - which is what they were credited throughout the series and on the website. As on the website this time, he's credited as Shane J, and the fact that Shane Lynch entered with a "Shane L" name badge on shows that it's not Courtney. Yes Courtney is the stage name, but that's only when he's in drag. He's being filmed 24/7, he admitted himself in the interview with Emma beforehand that he's not going to be Courtney all the time. Courtney is fiction, just like Daniel's character is Dapper Laughs. ThisIsDanny (talk) 03:38, 6 January 2018 (UTC)

- So this is still ongoing @Msalmon: I know you've been reverting too. I'd like to point out that the IP said Fatman Scoop wasn't credited as Scoop on the website but is in the article (CBB16). Yes he was. http://bigbrother.channel5.com/housemate/scoop We're not going to put Daniel/Dapper Laughs are we? ThisIsDanny (talk) 23:03, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
Difference is. Daniel hasn’t been referred to as ‘Dapper Laughs’ by Emma. And Dapper Laughs hasn’t appeared on the water mark. 90.204.47.61 (talk) 23:08, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
- Shouldn't we be sticking to what he is credited to on the show? MSalmon (talk) 23:10, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
He was credited as Courtney on launch night
- It looks like there are two different people if we use Shane & Courtney though MSalmon (talk) 23:12, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
- His hashtag on launch night was #CBBShaneJ even though he was called Courtney MSalmon (talk) 23:14, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
- I was the one who used his profile on the website as a source last night by the way, because people kept changing it. Is it worth putting it back in do you think? ThisIsDanny (talk) 23:17, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, we should be using Shane J MSalmon (talk) 23:17, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
- Just a suggestion but would it be a good idea if we name them as Shane J but add a ref note that states they went by "Courtney" on launch and went by Courtney in the house?, Just a suggestion. –Davey2010Talk 23:23, 6 January 2018 (UTC)

- It seems like the most sensible answer right now. To be honest I don't think it'll matter what we agree on, there's always going to be people coming across this article and changing it to what they believe, regardless of what's right or wrong. All day it's been happening by the looks of things, and actually has been since he went in on Friday. ThisIsDanny (talk) 18:13, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
I was one of the people who kept changing his name to Courtney Act, but the way it looks how is horrible. I think it definitely needs to be either just Courtney or just Shane J. Just an opinion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1008:B113:20FC:D436:DB37:10C4:5E5 (talk) 20:25, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
Okay, it looks a mess, it should either be just Shane J or just Courtney. ‘Shane J/Courtney looks like two housemates 90.204.47.61 (talk) 21:01, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
- Which is why we should go from what the official BB website says, like we've done for every other housemate in other series. Even Tila Tequila. She was credited as just "Tila" so we did in the article list. ThisIsDanny (talk) 21:07, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
- Like everyone keeps saying we should be using what is on the official website which is Shane J not Shane J/Courtney or Courtney MSalmon (talk) 21:12, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
@ThisIsDanny: @Davey2010: @Msalmon: The website now says ‘Shane Jenek/Courtney Act’ the article should be changed.
- Confirmed I checked the link and the header at the top lists Shane Jenek/Courtney Act and the website address now says "shane-jenek-courtney-act" versus before it just said "shane-jenek" TheDoctorWho (talk) 00:27, 12 January 2018 (UTC)
Specifying who got fewest vs second-fewest w/ multiple evictions
[edit]Right now, Rachel's and Maggie's cells both read Fewest votes to save
. I think it would be useful to specify which got the fewest, and which got the second fewest, but my edit was quickly reverted without an explanation. Is there policy to just say they were all "Fewest" without specifying which evicted housemates had the actual fewest when multiple leave in a day? Just wanted to bring it up as an idea / ask for clarification. Umimmak (talk) 18:54, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
Housemates section
[edit]Is there any reason to list each housemate separately instead of using a table, with a link to 'List of Celebrity Big Brother 21 housemates (UK)'? MSalmon (talk) 20:50, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- This was discussed briefly last series when someone changed it simply to a list (not a table though) with things such as "Amelia Lily - Singer" but it seemed too basic. Someone then suggested that a separate page would be made, which is a good idea I suppose but then is it really necessary because is there anything actually wrong with how it looks now? It seems like a lot of work considering it'd have to be done for all the other 20 series. At one point also the nominations tables were in separate pages but then became part of the main page. ThisIsDanny (talk) 21:06, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
Is there any point in having links in the infobox? They don't lead anywhere since there's no section based on first names only on this page, could they possibly just be taken out? Or maybe the housemates section should be changed to first names only? --Snowstormer (T | C) 21:38, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
