June 2007

[edit]

YUP, sounds like a GREAT idea to me!— Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.1.59.69 (talkcontribs) 21:06, 30 June 2007‎

I think that the article that would absorb this one should have a sub-section with the title -- The Carver. Or something like that, because the company and its products are two different things.

The Tesla motorcar has a different page than Tesla Motors, and perhaps this should follow its example? Sedonaarizona 04:08, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think they should remain separate articles, since the vehicle and the company are two separate things. Though there isn't as much notability now, I think later it won't be a problem. Man, I can't wait for the North American release... Vechs 14:36, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think they should be merged too -darrenm540 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Darrenm540 (talkcontribs) 11:28, 20 April 2008‎

Some time has passed since this discussion but the topic is still relevant. Carver has now produced two vehicle models, so I suggest splitting this into one page about the company and one page about the Carver One specifically. Any thoughts? COI cleanup

[edit]

I haven't had time to review everything, but at the very least the celebrity name dropping probably needs to be deleted unless a source can verify that it matters is some way. See WP:WPACT. "A large number of videos on the Internet" is not exactly what we mean when we say WP:RS. Needs a more sober summary of the company--Dennis Bratland (talk) 17:00, 3 January 2012 (UTC).[reply]

Some cleanup performed for the most egregious spamming and puffery, including the "videos on the internet" thing. Enough to remove the COI tag? — Brianhe (talk) 02:27, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
OK. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 02:39, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

takes after GM's "Lean Machine"

[edit]

Someone may want to look into what's online re. GM's "lean machine" and add to the Carver article how the lean machine also was 3 wheeled (2 in rear), and also leaned into corners and this was back in the 1980s!

Are you volunteering? I'm more than willing to collaborate editing but my plate is a bit full for in-depth research. -- Brianhe (talk) 00:21, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Adverts

[edit]

Please watch the "Reception" and "Owners" section carefully. Several IPs have been inserting obvious promotion here, including links to private webstores. I left the "Carver Owner's Club" link because it seems like a real community website, but ads for auto parts outlets have no place here. 157.235.66.80 (talk) 14:31, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

We actually don't keep links to clubs, forums, fansites, etc. See WP:ELNO #10 and #11. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 17:02, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Moving the article

[edit]

I suggest moving this article, as it's not just about the Carver One anymore. What should the new title be? I'm thinking either Carver (automotive manufacturer) or Carver (automotive brand). Any thoughts? FabulousPineapple03 (talk) 08:20, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think Carver (automobile) -> Carver (automobiles) is probably sufficient. Wikipedia:Naming conventions (companies) allows using the formal Carver Europe B.V. in this case because we have to disambiguate it from Carver, as well as Carver (crater), Carver (film), Carver (novel), Carver (play), etc. I'd usually favor the shortest one, but there isn't a huge difference: Carver Europe B.V. is the shortest, Carver (automotive brand) is the longest, but not by a lot, Carver (automobiles) is in between. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 16:45, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your answer! I was thinking about that too, but I'm wondering whether (automobiles) would technically be correct, since Carver now also manufactures electric scooters. Is a enclosed scooter considered an automobile? FabulousPineapple03 (talk) 12:23, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
