The KRM regional rail project plans to introduce rail to new communities south of Milwaukee, connecting with Chicago's Metra system at Kenosha station.
I'm fairly certain this is sourced in the Kenosha station article, but it is somewhat crystal ball-y and doesn't mention the Cannonball. No strong feelings on this, so leaving it here for now in case someone wants to salvage it. Viriditas (talk) 22:58, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Central Corridor:, and welcome to DYK. I'm not doing a full review, but I will provide you with some feedback to help out. Firstly, I have tagged some uncited statements in the article that will need to be cited before this article can pass DYK per WP:DYKCITE. Second, I think the proposed hook will not meet the interesting requirement. It simply states a basic fact that even I, someone obsessed with trains to the point they're in my username, do not find particularly interesting. Fortunately, there are some things in the article that we can use to support a better hook. I was drawn to the sentence "The Cannonball gained a reputation for parties that frequently occurred on the Friday night train outbound from Milwaukee. Passengers brought aboard drinks to share, a band played, and the train often held at intermediate stops to replenish beer and ice."
Based on that sentence, here's my proposed hook: "... that despite being an ordinary commuter train, the Cannonball was often the site of parties with a live band and drinks on Friday nights?"
I have adopted this nomination. I was able to modify one uncited sentence and add a source. I am working on the others, but I’m afraid I may have to remove them. Viriditas (talk) 18:29, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Overall: The article is new enough, since it was created on September 12, and nominated on September 18. Length and sourcing are adequate. The article is neutral in tone and no plagiarism was detected. The hook is rather catchy, mentioned in the article, cited to an offline book which I will AGF on the source. The nominated image has a public domain license on the Commons, it is used in the article, clear at a low resolution, and greatly enhances the hook. QPQ is not required since this is the nominator's first DYK attempt. Thanks to User:Viriditas for adopting this nomination. Flibirigit (talk) 17:21, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
