[edit]would be a good idea here... It would also be a good idea to lump labour unrest under one section. Bobanny 06:57, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
Lead section too short
[edit]Could someone expand the lead paragraph to include a summary of all the major points of the article as per MOS:LEAD? I'm a horrible writer, plus I would rather not mar it with a {{Lead too short}} tag. -- Ϫ 00:48, 23 September 2010 (UTC)

Canada in the World Wars and Interwar Years → Canada in the world wars and interwar period – WP:LOWERCASE. This is not the title of a published work; it is just a descriptive title. Also "interwar period" is used more commonly on Wikipedia than "interwar years". — BarrelProof (talk) 21:54, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- Support: Yes. Wikipedia standard. Sentence case for article titles. I'd've done it without asking, but this works too. SchreiberBike | ⌨ 22:13, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- I was worried that someone might want to give these terms special treatment. — BarrelProof (talk) 22:17, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- Support after checking the n-grams to make sure that "the World Wars" is not consistently capped in sources. It's about half capped, so WP style is to do lowercase. Dicklyon (talk) 22:25, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: I agree with using sentence case, but it's a slightly unwieldy title given that the interwar period (obviously) doesn't come after the world wars, and also in terms of length. Should it be History of Canada (1914–1945), to match the articles that follow it (History of Canada (1945–1960), History of Canada (1960–1981) and History of Canada (1982–present))? I know the lede and the infobox give the date range 1914–1947, but that doesn't match the scope "world wars and interwar period" or, apparently, the contents of the page. (I read that internment of Japanese Canadians continued beyond 1947.) Ham II (talk) 05:48, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
- Based on a quick skim, I'd say the article is much more focused on wartime and military and foreign policy aspects of Canada history, as opposed to general history, so maybe that's not the right fix. Are there other Canada history articles to consider in this respect? Dicklyon (talk) 20:15, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
- There is some other material within the main History of Canada article about this period, but I don't find any other general history of Canada article for the period. (Canadian women in the World Wars is another candidate for lowercasing, along with Women in the World Wars and 10 other "World Wars" titles.) — BarrelProof (talk) 20:47, 28 August 2024 (UTC)

- Support This is clearly a move from title case to sentence case where none of the terms affected are consistently capitalised and period rather than years is consistent with how this is referred to on WP. Cinderella157 (talk) 23:36, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
