Requested move 21 July 2017
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: Moved to Bury It, and the current contents to Bury It (disambiguation). There is (not so strong, admittedly) consensus that this song is WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, and WP:DABSONG is pretty clear on the issue. No such user (talk) 09:31, 21 August 2017 (UTC)
Bury It (song) → Bury It – Only song on the dab page with an article. 2601:8C:4001:DCB9:2DC9:63F9:6391:2DD (talk) 21:47, 21 July 2017 (UTC) --Relisting. -- Dane talk 20:58, 30 July 2017 (UTC)--Relisting. DrStrauss talk 18:53, 8 August 2017 (UTC)

- @2601:8C:4001:DCB9:2DC9:63F9:6391:2DD: Bury It is a disambig page. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 21:51, 21 July 2017 (UTC)
- Comment – Yes, but if this move comes to pass, that page can be moved to "Bury It (disambiguation)" because again, this is the only song with an article called "Bury It" at this moment. 2601:8C:4001:DCB9:2DC9:63F9:6391:2DD (talk) 21:53, 21 July 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose malformed, the target is a dab page. And not sure why we have an article for a song that peaked at No.93 in Scotland? "Bury It" (song), by Chvrches from Every Open Eye , "Bury It", song by Palisades from I'm Not Dying Today (Palisades EP) ,"Bury It", song and single by Alter Der Ruine, Bury It, 2002 comedy short with Andy Beckwith, Des McAleer, Clare Grogan and Steve Sweeney. Put together none of these is an absolute natural topic. In ictu oculi (talk) 11:21, 22 July 2017 (UTC)
- Support, this looks like the primary topic to me. Not just because this is the only subject with an article, but because the other topics show no hint of being even slightly notable at all. Nohomersryan (talk) 21:11, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
- But neither does a No.93 charting song in Scotland. This is clearly a highly generic title. Ambiguating it doesn't help readers, particularly mobile readers who we will now force to load a large article with graphics on a barely charting song just to read a hat note to the dab page, and then still have to go to the dab page. There doesn't have to be an absolute topic among many barely notable bits of entertainment trivia. In ictu oculi (talk) 08:59, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
- I mean, I can't say I've ever heard of this song, but I'm not sure how it shows no hint of being notable when it clearly charted on more than that one Scotland chart you seem to like. The Palisades EP doesn't look notable at all and could probably be deleted, I can't find a single source at all that talks about the Alter Der Ruine song, and the 2002 short starred a whole host of non-notable actors and has a whopping 7 votes on IMDB. From the way you talk about how this is a very generic title and readers are aching to see a DAB page, I would expect there to be more than 3 other topics that could never conceivably have articles. - Support and move the dab page to Bury It (disambiguation). This is the only topic with an article or coverage at any other article.--Cúchullain t/c 20:43, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose the nomination per WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT. The question of whether a topic is currently the subject of a standalone article is never a deciding issue in assessing whether it is the primary topic. In some cases it is irrelevant.
- The primacy or otherwise of any topic should be assessed by the properties of the topic itself, rather than of how Wikipedia currently covers the topic. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 13:43, 25 July 2017 (UTC)
- Support as the only article with this title. The disambiguation page should also be moved to Bury It (disambiguation). kennethaw88 • talk 00:19, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose. The other two songs and film listed in the DAB are all mentioned in the relevant articles. No case has been made that this song is the primary topic. Andrewa (talk) 04:02, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
- Support and move dab. As the only article, it's primarytopic by pageviews by default, and I don't see any challenges for significance. Dohn joe (talk) 00:56, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
- Support per nom. It's the only article currently on WP that does or could use the title. A dab page is unnecessary. Station1 (talk) 05:42, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
