Not all burst fractures are traumatic. If there is underlying disease of the bone (osteop0rosis, neoplasia) burst fractures can occur spontaneously without trauma. osteoporotic burst fracture Loupe (talk) 15:36, 18 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
