I ranked this medium importance due to it being a current event. Sabine's Sunbird talk 05:33, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Images

[edit]

Now that we have a free image (great work Shyamal!) aren't we obliged to get rid of the fair use one? Fair use in this case is justified by the absence of a free image. Sabine's Sunbird talk 04:36, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I was actually quite surprised by the presence of the photograph. I do believe the author Ramana Athreya would consider contributing the image if someone sought it but until then I think it is not fair-use enough. Shyamal 05:14, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I took it out and replaced it with yours. We should attempt to contact him for a free photograph (maybe he has others he can share, there are certainly plenty in the paper), until then we have a free one. Sabine's Sunbird talk 05:44, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good article nomination

[edit]

My suggestions:

  • lead is too short
  • Is there a link for Emei Shan Liocichla?
  • "Small flocks are observed during January, whereas pairs were observed in May, with an estimated total of 14 individuals." (Source?)
  • "The species was described in 2006..." (Source?)
  • There aren't any external links.

The Emei Shan Liocichla is the same thing as the Grey-faced Liocichla. Incidenatlly, the sole source is the article describing it (from 2006). I have to say I'm uncertain this is GA quality yet. Sabine's Sunbird talk 03:21, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
My suggestions were answered, but I'll wait until Sabine's Sunbird expresses a new opinion. Anyway thanks for the work. NCurse work 05:39, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I am confident that the article meets the GA criteria and so am passing it as the hold has run for well over a week. Eluchil404 21:36, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I removed this link from the section External links as it was not linking to the Field sketch as claimed. I tried to look where on the OB site the sketch is but drew a naught. Hope somebody can add the correct link. Prashanthns (talk) 01:04, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
