[edit]Should be some reference to the Split-pea soup thing, whose signs were up and down the coastal highway for many miles for many years (not sure if this is still the case)... AnonMoos (talk) 03:23, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
- They're still there: the one on 101 east of Gaviota may be the only billboard in all of southern Santa Barbara County (grandfathered in during the billboard ordinance sometime in the 1970s, which prohibited all signage above a certain size, and in natural locations). I know there's at least one, and probably two, on 101 north of Buellton as well. Antandrus (talk) 03:30, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
- Anyway, I linked to the official Split-pea soup site, since it seems to be Buellton's main claim to fame (though the site's main page doesn't seem to have been updated in over five years...). AnonMoos (talk) 08:34, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Removed Misleading or Inaccurate Statements
[edit]There were a few sentences that seemed misleading or not accurate, so I've removed them. Namely:
- "Their current advertising looks the same." AFAIK, Anderson's current advertising does not look like the image.
- "Buellton was in 2004 was one of the fastest-growing towns in central Santa Barbara County." This is sort of a non-statement as there really aren't that many towns in "central Santa Barbara County" which is a pretty narrow set. It's also unsupported (and I suspect not true).
- "Unlike most communities in Santa Barbara County, Buellton has a majority of voters registered as Republicans,[1] although now the town has a plurality Republican registration." I don't have access to the source but, if this was true in 2000, I would be surprised if it is true today. If someone wants to add this back in, please add a better source.

Proposed Merger
[edit]I think Buellton Union Elementary School District should be merged into this page since it is not notable enough on its own to warrant its own page. I'll plan to take a crack at doing so in the coming days, absent objection. DocFreeman24 (talk) 03:44, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
