Speedy deletion tag - unclear reason

[edit]

Homer318 (talk) 20:44, 29 March 2009 (UTC) I'm trying to understand the reason for the tag applied. I am a new user to Wiki and dont follow your web speak yet. This not for profit organization is linked with ~100 arts and hobby style magazines in western Canada. The entry is being updated and edited to provide better links to these magazines and understanding of the organization for new members and the public. What is required to clear this up?[reply]

  • One things that's needed is original prose about the subject. It is very likely deletable right now as copyright infringement, as the text looks copied directly from the association's web site.
Beyond that, the article must assert that the organization is notable, which is primarily done by showing that independent sources have written articles about the subject. —C.Fred (talk) 20:51, 29 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't think it's a copyvio, but it needs reliable sources. That said, my inclination is to err on the side of caution and go normal, rather than speedy, deletion with this subject, because I don't think it's inherently non-notable. —C.Fred (talk) 21:04, 29 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Homer318 (talk) 21:08, 29 March 2009 (UTC) I'll edit for original prose, research & insert notable / independent source materials. thanks.[reply]
