- It looks like the current picture has been enlarged and overly recompressed. I've shrunk it down as a "band-aid" solution. - RedWordSmith 04:27, August 9, 2005 (UTC)
Umm, when was Bob Ryan ever commended for those comments??? And I'm pretty sure Jason Kidd didn't "smack" his wife after that...
- He didn't smake her after that he did it before. I think the section on the controversy is Joumana biased Ryan said something bad Kidd did something worse. Who should get fired, I wonder. (Creator22 14:13, 31 October 2006 (UTC))
What the heck?! There's more about a scandal than about probably the greatest Baskerball writer of all time. What's that about?
- Because Ryan became famous for his basketball columns in the 70s, and the kind of people who edit Wikipedia are, by and large, more familiar with PTI than the Boston Globe? But I agree with you, this article definitely needs to be expanded. Stilgar135 04:28, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
I removed the following from the main article:
Ryan "can't stand fellow Globe columnist Dan Shaughnessy."[1]
The links provided do not support this comment, the comment didn't fit in the paragraph it was in and it seems unlikely (thought not impossible) to believe that Ryan is on record saying he dislikes CHB. If anyone has a link that is current and supports that like, I will consider reading it.(Hardnfast 13:29, 3 May 2007 (UTC)) living life like a beginner and this is only the begging. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.166.7.215 (talk) 16:33, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

[edit]The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Bob Ryan/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.
==B Class== Good start needs some copy editing, a photo, and a couple of more citations for statements. I know basketball is his favorite sport but I doubt he is considered a guru. Guru implies genius or renowned teacher of the sport like Pete Newell or Tex Winter. The citations that are there are in very good shape. Quadzilla99 16:56, 14 January 2007 (UTC) |
