[edit]

I vaguely remember an exchange between Bob Kurtz and co-announcer Tom Reid during the local television coverage of a Minnesota North Stars game sometime in the 1990-1991 season. After a mad scramble in front of the North Stars net, the whistle blew, and as the players separated it became clear that the goalie had trapped the puck. Kurtz said, "And what a fine example of Zen goaltending: by not seeking the puck, he found the puck." (Reid reacted with some variation on "Huh!??" and Kurtz said something like "I've been waiting (some amount of time, maybe "seven years") to use that line.") Obviously the vague memory of a random old anonymous fan isn't authoritative, but if anyone ever wants to come up with a compendium of noteworthy sports announcer quotes, you might want to dig that one up (if the TV station has saved those old tapes.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.227.116.194 (talk) 15:23, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
