University of Louisiana at Lafayette is the name of the university. The university suggests the use of Louisiana, or Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns when referring to its sports teams. This is similar to the use of "Ole Miss" for the University of Mississippi's sports teams. We may not like it, but these are the style's requested by the university.
