Regarding possible speedy deletion
[edit]I agree that Meacham is not a major figure, but she is a published author, and a significant figure in the history of science fiction editing. If I don't misunderstand the rules for what is notable enough to be in Wikipedia, the latter qualification might be contestable, but the former is good enough for her to have an entry. If not, I'd be glad of a pointer to a policy that explains the distinctions. Thanks. Mike Christie 03:00, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
- Just adding books she's published would be sufficient to warrant a page. The current article had no substance and said only that she was an author. --MZMcBride 03:07, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
- OK, done. Thanks for the feedback. I was trying to eliminate red links from Ace Books, which is what I've really been working on, and I got a bit lazy about putting minimal stuff in the stubs I've been creating. Mike Christie 03:13, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
Glad to see this done so cooperatively--well done. I wish all contested deletions ended so positively. Meacham is a well-known figure in the world of SF publishing, yes. Here's a Locus interview with her: [1], and some references:

- Thanks -- very handy; I'll use those when I get to cleaning up this page some more. I am still learning about Wikipedia, and I appreciate the compliment. And if you have some sources on Harriet McDougal too, that would be great :). I've just been going back through my last half-dozen stubs and I think she's borderline notable.
