General Schriever
[edit]According to Neil Sheehan's A Fiery Peace, the nickname should be Bennie, and not Bernie as is shown in the Wikipedia article. "Bernie" never surfaces anywhere I can locate in the book or in other Internet references. General Schriever apparently got the Bennie sobriquet as a golfer in Texas from local sportswriters.

- I agree. General Schriever was my wife's grandfather. Her mother is Dodie Schriever Moeller. His family and friends always refered to him as Bennie not Bernie.

Propose move to Bernard Schriever
[edit]Bernard Schriever is commonly used name, with middle name rarely used outside of his official Air Force biography and obituaries. Should be a quick move per WP:COMMONNAME. Here’s an example: [1]. I can provide more if needed, but I don’t expect this to be contentious. Garuda28 (talk) 23:29, 22 November 2019 (UTC)
- Support Per WP:COMMONNAME. The move should include adjusting links, including the GA assessment. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 23:35, 22 November 2019 (UTC)
