[edit]Hi. An IP editor recently added a whole bunch of content which I removed today. I wanted to tell you why.
- I removed titles (Mr, Mrs, Dr, etc) from names in the article, as the Wikipedia manual of style says we do not use them unless the person in question has a sexually ambiguous name, such as Frances, in which case we would only use them the first time. Also, we do not use middle initials unless it is needed to distinguish two people with otherwise identical names. In all cases, we use the full name the first instance in each article and then only the last name for subsequent uses.
- I removed the recent addition of the alma mater and the school fight song as unencyclopedic content. School songs are specifically mentioned in school article guidelines as something not to include.
- Lastly, I removed the listing of the administrative staff. The above mentioned school article guidelines tell us that the only staff we discuss by name in a school article is the principal. Since his name would be the only thing in that section, and it is already in the infobox, I deleted the entire section. A good replacement would be a listing of all the principals the school has had, but only if it could be referenced and be made complete, or at least very close to it.
I applaud the efforts of the editors trying to improve this article, but there is only certain content that is appropriate to include. A very good project to improve this article would be an effort to cite the listing of state athletic championships. There is an item listed in that list that I assume is some sort of academic championship. If it is not a state or national championship, which by its name is doubtful, it should not be there. Guidelines only allow discussion of state and or national team championships. Gtwfan52 (talk) 03:46, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
