The German’s tried to capture St John’s.

I don't Understand the statement "The Germans also tried to capture St. John's, the capital of Newfoundland." Can anyone expand on that? There is no way they could have done that, nor did they have the resources (shipping and air power) to capture a city on the coast of North America. EasySlick (talk) 01:41, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
