Merge

The result of the proposal was Merge Three ghosts of Batman to Batman & Son - But only what is verifiable, and directly relevant to the B&S article. Delete the remainder as unreferenced WP:OR. I'll leave User:Wordforge a note concerning this closure. - jc37 02:37, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

I think this should be merged with the 'three ghosts' article because this article mentions the scarring of the Joker etc but doesn't mention how this happens or who does it. If the articles aren't merged somehow the readers of this article could think Batman did it.

"After a harrowing battle with the Joker high atop Police Headquarters, Batman decides to let Bruce Wayne step into the light. ...will feature the Joker's return after reconstructive surgery on his face following being shot in the head in the opening scene of Batman and Son."

• Do not merge The three ghosts made no appearances in Batman & Son, therefore is not relevant to this article. --CmdrClow 21:19, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
  • But the Batman and Son graphic novel contains issues 655-658 and 663-666, so it is part of the story.
  • Comment - the entry specifically says Bat-Cop appeared in 655 and, as has been said, their other appearances have been collected in the trade paperback. The bottom line is that it is currently a lot of fan speculation (including I believe the name) and if it isn't merged it's going to be deleted (the merge suggestion was the other option to it being deleted - see the talk page in the other entry).   • Regardless, the title Batman & Son is only relevant to the four-issue story taking place in Batman issues #655-658. The article is not indicative of the collective stories of the TPB. Because of this, the three ghosts don't belong in that article. --CmdrClow (talk) 04:17, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Today I started to read the Resurrection of Ras Al Ghul story ark, and I wanted to do a quick refresher on the prior Morrison story lines. I've been reading both this page (Batman & Son) and the Three Ghosts page. I have two questions.

1. Have people given up on the idea of merging the two pages? I can't tell from reading the discussion pages.
2. Would anyone think that it would be overkill if I added some info about how...

• Batman's schedule At one point in the story (#655)Gorden talks about how Batman has managed to get all the super criminals locked up. Later(also #655)Batman tells Robin that Alfred thinks he should take a vacation. Robin responds by saying he believes this is a good idea because the last time Batman took a vacation he cleaned up most of Gotham when he returned.
• Alfred's concerns Alfred was concerned that Batman was overwhelming the Bruce Wayne personality, and thus asked Batman to spend more time as Bruce (thus prompting his trip to the Londan Pop Art Museum)?

I think both bits of info are relevant because they shed some light on Batman's activity, and help explain what prompted Batman to go to Londan in the first place. However, if others feel this info is not relvant please let me know.

• Redone as a whole. Not merged because Batman & Son itself is a piece of the whole story that Grant Morrison is doing. I think, actually, this article and The Three Ghosts of Batman should be merged and renamed Batman RIP, as it seems that's the climax of the whole storyline. How/what to merge

As we are merging things it it strikes me the best approach is to refocus this to the trade paperback and also include smallish sections on the other two stories see Grant Morrison#DC Comics.

As was mentioned this all sounds like it is part of the build-up to Batman R.I.P. but at the moment, it seems to make sense as a standalone article (for now, but the sheer number of issues that people are suggesting the main storyline will run to I doubt there will be a big demand for a merge) and anything relevant to that story can be referred back to here.

The infobox is already a collected arc one so there shouldn't need to be any major reconfiguration - just add sections for the other stories and keep it brief. (Emperor (talk) 02:50, 15 May 2008 (UTC))

Muller/Miller

The title of the character says 'Muller' but the name is Josef Miller. Which is it? I haven't read this new storyline (but seeing a Spoiler is back in fashion these days with Batman) so I don't know which name is correct. Tyciol (talk) 21:14, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

Ampersand

Shouldn't the title of this article be Batman and Son? It appears this way on DC's website currently[1], in the Grand Comics Database[2], as well as the Library of Congress.[3] Per Wikipedia's Manual of Style, "and" should be used unless the ampersand appears in the title. However, that's at least three sources that indicate that the ampersand is not used in the collection's title. (I don't recall how it appeared in the original issues of Batman.) --GentlemanGhost (converse) 00:09, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

I can give you a fourth source: the "trailer" citation used to source the title "Batman & Son" at the beginning of the article actually consistently refers to the story as "Batman and Son". To make sure, I tried putting "& Son" into the "find" function, and got no results on that page. It would be nice if we knew how it appeared in the original issues of Batman, but even if those use "Batman & Son", I'd say the graphic novel is a better indication of the WP: COMMONTITLE.--NukeofEarl (talk) 14:25, 20 March 2014 (UTC)
