Basketball at the 1904 Summer Olympics was held at the St Louis World’s Fair and 100 Year Celebration of the Louisiana Purchase. There was also a girls’ basketball championship game. The Fort Shaw Indian girls took on any challengers. On October 4th, 1904, the Fort Shaw Indian team was declared the World Champion.

Fort Shaw was an Indian Boarding school near Great Falls, MT. The girls were given a trophy that’s in a Montana museum. Sage Picking Woman (talk) 20:56, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
