Eliot vs Elliot

The naming of this person seems to have two variations in the 19th century

Eliot Bartholomew George Warburton; and
Bartholomew Eliot George Warburton

though both of the 19thC references only utilise one 'l'. Wondering what is the reference for the 'll'. See s:Author:Eliot Bartholomew George Warburton billinghurst sDrewth 12:39, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The references cited in the article have two "l"s. It looks like he used the name Eliot when he started writing. Hohenloh⁺ 14:37, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: changed the lead name of the person to Bartholomew Eliot George Warburton, three contemporaneous sources—EB1911, SBDEL and DNB—give that order, and only Irish Biographical gives the lead with Eliot.
