Notability

[edit]

Unless anyone has objections, I'm going to remove the 'notability' tag.

The Banque d'Afrique Occidental is/was the central bank for the CFA franc, the common currency of a number of African states. Pretty darn notable!T L Miles 17:32, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrote this

[edit]

I studied this stuff in school (economics of French colonialism), so I went ahead and rewrote the whole thing. There's a real dearth of articles here on the AOF, so this kinda stands out, but I'd hope the other subjects rise to this level of detail. T L Miles 15:39, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Currently (2024-10-21), this article is linked to fr:CBAO Groupe Attijariwafa bank on French Wikipedia through the interlanguage link tool. This doesn't seem fully correct / appropriate because CBAO Attijariwafa is an ongoing concern, while this article refers only to the BAO which is defunct. I am proposing to change the interlanguage link to fr:Banque internationale pour l'Afrique occidentale, which while not fully correct (the BIAO seems to not have an article on en:wikipedia) is more appropriate in my eyes. Since this is a low-traffic page, I'll leave this note up for 30 days if no comments before making the change. Shazback (talk) 20:40, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
