The official name of the city is Bengaluru. The Bangalore page should be merged with this one.--Cdogsimmons (talk) 13:20, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

tell me please when "serial blasts" was used in an article title...--TheFEARgod (Ч) 13:29, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Right. My bad. Admins please move it to 2008 Bangalore bombings. --KnowledgeHegemonyPart2 13:34, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

... as in, what is now the page 2002 Bangalore serial blasts should be moved to a page called 2008 Bengaluru serial blasts and the content from what was previously 2008 Bengaluru bombings should be merged with that page.--Cdogsimmons (talk) 13:51, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Or just take out the "serial blasts" part altogether. Bombings sounds a little less POV.--Cdogsimmons (talk) 13:52, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Cdog, the article should be called the 2008 Bengaluru bombings with redirects for the others. 86.53.80.11 (talk) 01:43, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another bomb found.

banglore rename

[edit]

please dont change it before consensus reached. we can discuss here the name issue...Alokprasad84 (talk) 05:46, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

True, there's internal inconsistency in the article since mention of Bengaluru is made twice in the lead, while the template on terror attacks in India mentions Bangalore. The article on the Bangalore blasts as well as the Bangalore article appear to use Bangalore in most places so perhaps we should go with that and save the naming discussion for the Bangalore page? If a change is made there in naming policy, then we can change this article to suit that. Kaushik twin (talk) 06:16, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Bangalore is more common. --KnowledgeHegemonyPart2 08:27, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes Bangalore is more common and also the link to "Bengaluru" on the article actuall redirects to Bangalore. Speedboy Salesman (talk) 14:22, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have changed this as internal Indian media (India Times) calls the city name as Bangalore, and internationally this city is known as Bangalore too. Also, the city police is the Bangalore City Police. -- Guroadrunner (talk) 22:13, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also, the official name of the city is Bangalore when it comes to the government of India. The province chose to change it, but the government did not clear this. Source: http://www.hindu.com/2007/12/18/stories/2007121854970600.htm . -- Guroadrunner (talk) 22:22, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

but Bangalore is governed by 1. Karanataka 2. Bangalore municipal corporation (Bangalore Mahanagara Palike). At any rate, see this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baroda Lihaas (talk) 22:00, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Quotes and who said what

[edit]

I'm removing who said what references and direct quotes. The first is bad writing style and the second is a copyright violation

This is horrible and what was really strange is that I had a dream about a bombing and it was just so strange to wake up and read this headline.
