Austin's travels
[edit]I took out line about there being considerable criticism of Austin's many uncalled (alleged) travels in the UNC Duke game, as well as the YouTube reference. I'm not debating either way whether there was considerable criticism, but there needs to be a legitimate reference for this, such as an article in a major sporting or news publication, and preferably one not just making the criticism, but saying there is considerable criticism. Sorry, but a YouTube video doesn't cut it as a worthy reference proving the point.John ISEM (talk) 20:25, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
- This was embedded in numerous trade websites and viewed thousands of times. It constitutes criticism worth of mention.--YHoshua (talk) 20:37, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
Then YHoshua, you can certainly come up with a better reference than a YouTube video. How about a quote from a notable basketball pundit or sports publication? If there is none, then that calls into question the term "considerable". 40,000 views is small potatoes in the world of YouTube. John ISEM (talk) 20:42, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
I left the line in the article, but removed the reference. If you put it back I'm not doing any more edits. You should come up with a better source for such a particular statement as this than a YouTube video with only 40,000 views. as I question the veracity of "considerable" criticism, as well as the importance of the line. See Wikipedia on sources If you don't have a better source than the YouTube video, the comment about traveling should be left out of the article.John ISEM (talk) 21:05, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
One more thing: if the YouTube video was shown on a notable sports website, reference the website itself that showed the video, not YouTube.John ISEM (talk) 21:13, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, I've further considered the matter and concur with your assessment. I've removed the reference.--YHoshua (talk) 21:22, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
Austin Rivers Pro experience
[edit]The first line of this bio states that he plays for the hornets. He was dratfed, but is yet to play. Not alot of doubt that he won't play, but today, and for several month's. it is totally inaccurate. And no, summer league doesn't count. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fredex50 (talk • contribs) 13:09, 12 July 2012 (UTC)

Would like to update the page to accurately indicate that he is planning to play for the hornets, but today, and for many tomorrows, he has not yet played for the hornets.
Fredex50 (talk) 13:35, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
- Wait until he actually signs, plus I'd need a reliable source. Ryan Vesey Review me! 13:54, 12 July 2012 (UTC)

You missed the point. The article states that he plays for the hornets, yet, he has not yet signed, nor has he played a single NBA game. The statement is false, and should be removed, or updated to be accurate.

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Andie ▶(Candy)◀ 16:44, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
You are asking for something that can't be provided, since it is FALSE.... lets try this from the other side. Please provide a reliable source that austin rivers has played for the hornets in an official NBA game. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fredex50 (talk • contribs) 19:38, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

Concern or credibility regarding Austin Rivers
[edit]Concern: he is currently on the Timberwolves, not the Knicks. That was about 4 teams ago. Please update pic to him With a timberwolves jersey. He could be mistaken for just a super knicks fan 2603:6011:5403:3F51:412A:2AA0:E879:CBFA (talk) 08:48, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
