Arthur`s Spelling Trubble/Trouble
[edit]Okay let me get this clear to you guys. The title of this episode is like a parody of the previous episode, which is called "Arthur`s Teacher Trouble". It is also a pun. Arthur has trouble spelling words on the episode and "trubble" is "trouble" misspelled. Get it? It`s SPELLED incorrectly because Arthur has trouble with his SPELLING test.
Need validation that it`s "trubble" not "trouble"? Check the effing reference link which is listed right on the bottom of this page. That`s the official site of the list of Arthur episodes, and it`s says ""Arthur's Spelling Trubble". Need more proof? Go to your library and see if they have this episode in VHS. If you read the back of the label, it will say "Arthur's Spelling Trubble". Need even more proof? Send an email to WGBH customer support or go stalk one of the writers if they even remember scripting the episode.
Furthermore, if you`re planning to change information on articles of wikipedia, you need to post a reliable source. Just because this article is of low importance doesn`t mean it`s allowed to bend the rules. Angiex3-2 (talk) 18:16, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Categories
[edit]The Category:Television comedy has been added to this article.--User:Warrior777 (talk) 02:02, 8 August 2011 (UTC) These categories could be added as well but are currently red lettered: "Television program" and "List of comedy television series"--User:Warrior777 (talk) 02:06, 8 August 2011 (UTC).
Dates
[edit]Until recently, this article gave the date of the first episode as September 2, 1996.[1]
Rod14 believes it first aired October 7, 1996.[2] When challenged, Rod14 cites an archived page from PBS/WGBH.[3] This page, archived December 25, 1996 (the earliest archive date for anything on pbs.org), says "ARTHUR premieres on PBS on October 7, 1996."
Against this, the following sources currently give September 2, 1996:
Yes, in December of 1996, a page on PBS said the show will premier three months earlier. However, I am unable to find any source which currently says that it did premier in October. Every source that I did find that said anything more specific than "1996" gives the September date. My best guess here would be that at some point in 1996 -- the early days of the Internet -- someone put up a page for Arthur saying when they expected the show to start. Things change. - SummerPhDv2.0 16:43, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
- Actually, I found that out according to the Arthur Wiki. Some of the sources that were linked above were actually incorrect as PBS premiered Arthur in October 7th of 1996. --Rod14 (talk) 22:11, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
- Can you provide a source please? - SummerPhDv2.0 23:29, 16 February 2017 (UTC)

- No, the Arthur Wiki (as with all user edited sites) is not a reliable source. I was looking for something to substantiate the claim that the other sources "were actually incorrect". The sources for the Arthur Wiki article are the two archived pages you already linked to, something call "Yesterdayland" (which doesn't give a date) and an article in Ad Age.

- While the Ad Age article is reliable in my book, it gives October 1996. This does contradict the September date in the sources I found and weakly supports the specific October date.
- As I see it, whatever we decide, we will need to cite a source for the date. IMDb (though usually right) is not specifically reliable. While Common Sense Media is certainly reliable for some info on more recent shows, I don't know for this older info. TV Guide is clearly reliable. That's one yes and one maybe for the September date.
- The Ad Age article favors an October date, without supporting the exact date.
- The KET archived (in 1997) schedule does have the episode on the October 7, 1996 schedule, but does not say it is the premier.[8]
- The undated WGBH page, archived in December 1996, says the show is scheduled to premier on October 7, 1996. It seems to be the earliest archive we have from WGBH.
- For the moment, I'm willing to go with the October date. Given the conflicting information, though, I think we should cite the WGBH page, marked for a better source. The date will need to be updated and tagged in several other articles as well. In case anyone disputes this or finds a solid source, I'll put notes on those talk pages pointing to this discussion. - SummerPhDv2.0 18:52, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
Fuller Plot Summaries
[edit]I am planning to edit the plot summaries of the episodes to make them fuller in detail, which is what most Wikipedia episode summaries have been doing nowadays. 2603:6010:8B45:FA00:9CE5:2635:D101:932E (talk) 00:05, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
