Craterus was born quite a while after Archelaus I of Macedon died. Who held power in between the two rulers?

Archelaus II and Alcetas II

Hello. I'm pretty new to editing on Wikipedia, so please bear with me if I unwittingly make some kind of mistake. I'm here to talk about the unhistorical nature of a few Macedonian 'kings' and why their wiki pages need to be altered and/or removed. @Eejit43 mentioned that we should first discuss the changes to the page on Archelaus I and I think that's a good idea. Anyways, the issue is that Archelaus II was never the king of Macedonia (de facto or de jure). I have not found a single source from modern scholarship that supports the idea that he was king (I'll paste all references with relevant page numbers below). He does not appear on any modern list of kings. Moreover, as far as I have read, Archelaus I never had a son named Archelaus (Roisman 158). Amyntas III did have a son named Archelaus, but he was never king.

In other words, the correct succession order (insofar that our sources argue) should be: Perdiccas II-Archelaus I-Orestes-Aeropus II-Amyntas II-Pausanias-Amyntas III. There is some wiggle room here (it's a chaotic period with very few surviving accounts), but Archelaus II was never king. Additionally, Alcetas, brother of Perdiccas II, was previously included as king on his wiki page, but that is also unhistorical for the same reasons as Archelaus (i.e. no mention/inclusion whatsoever by modern scholars). This issue does have some precedent on Wikipedia. Crateuas, Archelaus I's possible killer, was also included as king until someone (rightfully) removed him. I've only written so much because these claims date all the way back to 2008 with the page's creation and are unfortunately repeated on other language wikis.

I propose removing all mention of Archelaus II and Alcetas II as kings of Macedonia. I'll also post this to the Archelaus II page.
