Refs are a mess

I've done some quick work to the page... this page was and is kind of a mess. I've fixed up the section headings so they're in-line with Wikipedia norms, and cleaned up the refs as best i could. i removed one, because honestly it was such a broad ref for such broad information, i just did not have the time to track down what was meant by the cite in the first place. i'd like to work on this article in my free time, but that's laughable at least for the next week as i put together my Master's thesis.
