[edit]Fellow Wikipedian "Orge",
I corrected the spelling of Antonia Maury and you changed it back. I don't know why or what your source would be for changing it but as for me she is a distant kinslady and one source I have is a book, The Maury Family Tree authored by Sue West. The Draper family are also my kin and thus my changes. Too if you click on the Henry Draper link on Antonia Maury's entry, or look directly at the entry for Henry Draper you will see that his entry states"
[Henry] " Draper's mother was Antonia Coetana de Paiva Pereira Gardner, daughter of the personal physician to the Emperor of Brazil. "
The above spelling is what I have in my book and what someone else posted as the correct entry spelling as opposed to what you changed.
I would like to know of any of your sources, if you please, I have cited two (2) while you have cited nothing.
The original Antonia Caetana De Paiva Pereira was and remains incorrect. The correct spelling is (Dr.) Antonia Coetana de Pavia Pereia Maury. The daughter was named after her mother which would present the same spelling.

- All her books on Amazon spell her name "Coetana" - will change it back. GraL (talk) 15:13, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
There is a puzzling sentence "With the exception of the surname, she has exactly the same name as her ancestress." This is a non sequitur. Without some context it should be deleted. JMcC 17:42, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Identity of John Herschel
[edit]'Learning of this work from a copy of the Annual Report of the Henry Draper Memorial, eminent astronomer John Herschel recognized the importance of her achievements by writing to Pickering, the observatory's director. Herschel asked Pickering "to convey to Miss Maury my congratulations on having connected her name with one of the most notable advances in physical astronomy ever made."'
This cannot be Sir John Herschel because he died in 1871. It must be John Herschel the Younger.
