  • "The territory of Crimea, previously controlled by the Crimean Khanate, was annexed by the Russian Empire on 19 April [O.S. 8 April] 1783." - the use of the word previously is discouraged according to the MOS of words.
  • Russia annexed Crimea for a second time in March 2014. - unsourced and also is it required?

RRD13 দেবজ্যোতি (talk) 10:09, 1 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please link to the section of the MoS that prohibits the use of the word "previously"? On the second note, a source is not required per MOS:LEAD, as this is common knowledge, and because the linked article provides the sources. RGloucester 18:18, 2 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • "under Russian influence" - what does "influence" here mean?
Linked the article on sphere of influence. RGloucester 16:15, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • "at the time of its signing" - when? Previously also, the date of signing the treaty is not mentioned.
The relevant article, Treaty of Küçük Kaynarca, is linked. RGloucester 16:16, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • "recognised Devlet as Khan" - you want to mean Devlet as the monarch?
Linked the article on Khan (title). RGloucester 16:15, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • "direct defiance of the Treaty of Küçük Kaynarca" - the treaty name is already linked
Overlink removed. RGloucester 16:15, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Famed diplomat Ahmed Resmî Efendi" - Remove famed
Why should "famed" be removed? The qualifier is important in this context, as it makes clear that the Turks sent their best man. RGloucester 16:15, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • "quickly gained" - not specified
What do you mean, "not specified"? RGloucester 16:15, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
What is the timespan? RRD13 দেবজ্যোতি (talk) 08:42, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

RRD13 দেবজ্যোতি (talk) 09:45, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The timespan is "quickly". The exact timeframe is not specified in RS. History was not recorded to the minute, you know. RGloucester 15:42, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Says nothing about "previously". RGloucester 15:42, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Various clan leaders" - It would be better if some are named
They are not named in the sources that are available. RGloucester 15:42, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Many fled the peninsula" - many; unspecified
What do you mean, unspecified? "Many" is what the source says. I can't invent an OR number. History is not an exact science. RGloucester 15:42, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

RRD13 দেবজ্যোতি (talk) 08:42, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@RGloucester: The fact that it was annexed in 2014 is still unsourced. RRD13 দেবজ্যোতি (talk) 14:44, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It isn't required that it be sourced, per MOS:LEADCITE, as I said above. Regardless, to ensure your contentedness, I've added a citation. RGloucester 16:46, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The fact was present in the lead only! RRD13 দেবজ্যোতি (talk) 06:41, 27 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

After reading the reviewer's statement at the Good Article Help Desk, I am pleased to see that they were able to complete their review of this article. I have read the article and agree that it is GA quality and well-deserving of its GA designation. Cheers. Prhartcom (talk) 16:31, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
