She's pretty universally known as "Anne Gorsuch" f rom her time at EPA, isn't she? Why is this located here? john k 22:53, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

EPA - Superfund

[edit]

According to the Wikipedia article on Ruckleshaus (her EPA successor), her resignation occurred after mass agency resignations due to the Superfund scandal. She resigned in 1983 which isn't made clear here. Her Washington Post obituary said her refusal to turn over the Superfund documents was ordered by the White House. It should also be noted, although I'm not sure if it had a significant part to play in either the scandal or the resignations (but I suspect so), that she recruited senior managers from the industries the EPA was regulating, which suggests (original research, afaik!) that some of the Superfund correspondence might suggest a conspiracy between the Reagan Administration and industry. The Wikipedia article on the Superfund doesn't even mention this "scandal".40.142.182.216 (talk) 16:10, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't this a little bit of a whitewash for Gorsuch?

[edit]

Analysts have argued that she was given a difficult job by the Reagan Administration, but she was not provided the support she needed, leading to her early departure from her director position at the EPA.

Isn't the common knowledge that she was just a crappy administrator chosen for partisan reasons to do as the boss says that literally had an interest that was contrary to the effort to protect the environment? How can Wikipedia be so partial about a mediocre (or worse) historical figure? 173.48.64.110 (talk) 02:36, 2 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
