Vandalism
[edit]The Buchdahl article has been vandalized by a zealot who appears to want anything removed that is not consistent with or is not of interest under his/her interpretation of jewish law. This is antithetical to Wikipedia policy. If it continues I will ask for protection of the article from this vandalism. VanEman (talk) 19:43, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
- Agree with VanEman. Veni Markovski | Вени Марковски (talk) 20:36, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
- On January 1st and 2nd 2020, an anonymous user has entered a number of times different edits, which are not relevant to the article. They included, among others, opinions and POV of the author as to who is a Jew ("supported" by references to Wikipedia articles as sources for inclusion of his/her opinion); removal of reference to Newsweek "Most Influential Rabbis" (wrongly stating that there's no such publication); other controversial edits. If the anonymous author wants to contribute to the article, but doesn't know how, then (s)he should first introduce the changes on this page, and ask other editors for comments. Veni Markovski | Вени Марковски (talk) 12:20, 2 January 2020 (UTC)
I have submitted a request for protection of the article from vandalism. VanEman (talk) 02:54, 3 January 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks. Though, it seems the person has stopped for the day? Veni Markovski | Вени Марковски (talk) 02:59, 3 January 2020 (UTC)
I submitted a request for protection to this article given the vandalism. The powers that be are prepared to intervene if the vandalism starts up again:
"Angela Warnick Buchdahl[edit] Angela Warnick Buchdahl (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism - vandlaism and violations of BLP policy. Buchdalh is a Reform Jewish rabbi. Vandals of a different religious stream of Judaism remove items they believe make her a "bad Jew" or because references are not to religious websites. Example is a deletion of her membership in Yale "Skull and Bones Society" whose member include George W Bush and John Kerry: "curprev 05:18, 2 January 2020 141.226.9.49 talk 13,963 bytes -591 Undid revision 933566693 by VanEman (talk) Membership in a non-Jewish quasi-religious organization "The Brotherhood of Death" validate that she a bad Jew and should be under a separate section called 'Controversies'. Removed reference to her conversion becasue there is no reference to it at her Central Synagogue website. undo Tag: Undo"

"Converts to Reform Judaism"
[edit]I don't think this category is appropriate. Based on the article, she was raised Reform Jewish and is currently Reform Jewish without having belonged to any other religion in the interim. It looks like she did a giyur ceremony as a personal thing but I don't think that would justify us including her in the converts category. –Roscelese (talk ⋅ contribs) 01:17, 2 May 2022 (UTC)
