Why was the Andrew Yang Series Template deleted?
[edit]Why? Ak-eater06 (talk) 13:46, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Ak-eater06: See Wikipedia:Templates_for_discussion/Log/2021_October_3#Template:Andrew_Yang_series. JBchrch talk 19:47, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
Leader of Party
[edit]Yang is the Founder and Leader of the Forward Party. It's a self-described party and has been referred to such by the media. Their eventual goal is to become FEC recognized. Either way, it is a political organization and the Leader of such should be listed. Pennsylvania2 (talk) 19:02, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
- Where is your source saying he is the leader of the party, as an actual title/role? The website lists several people on its "team" page, but none of them have titles. ― Tartan357 Talk 21:08, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
- First it was "leader" and now it's "chair"? Are you just making this up? ― Tartan357 Talk 01:31, 10 October 2021 (UTC)
Be very careful
[edit]There is a strong bias among some editors to give Yang an Infobox and make up an office to pretend he's an Officeholder. The editors with clear heads please stay aware and make sure Yang actually is an officeholder before allowing such changes. -- Sleyece (talk) 21:14, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
Chinese-American or Taiwanese-American
[edit]Should Andrew Yang be identified as Chinese-American or Taiwanese-American? I wrote down that Andrew Yang is a Chinese-American, but a user deleted my text and said he wasn't Chinese. Andrew Yang is of Hoklo Chinese descent. Hoklo Chinese (a han-chinese subgroup) migrated from Fujian, China, to Taiwan between 1640-1949 (the period of mass migration). He is an ethnic Chinese, so it wouldn't be wrong to say he is a Chinese-America. Regardless, I made another edit and wrote down he is Taiwanese-American. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LilAhok (talk • contribs) 21:43, 10 May 2022 (UTC)
- @LilAhok We don't generally include ethnicity in lead sentences. See MOS:ETHNICITY. Galobtter (pingó mió) 21:44, 10 May 2022 (UTC)
- I'm not sure why this is such a big issue, but if you need to label him, I think Chinese-American is more correct. Or you can just call him an American. Valgrus Thunderaxe (talk) 02:36, 13 August 2022 (UTC)
The "Existential risk from artificial intelligence" template at the bottom of the article
[edit]The {{Existential risk from artificial intelligence}} template was added in 2019 when the issue was touched on in the main article. Now that the topic is not covered at all in this article, unlike universal basic income, should the template be removed? Aithus (talk) 06:51, 27 June 2023 (UTC)
- I've removed the template. Aithus (talk) 07:54, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
