Americano = 1/2 espresso + 1/2 regular brew coffee

No, an americano is espresso and hot water. What you are refering to is more simmular to a red eye. (Red eye = regular brew coffee + a shot or two of espresso)

What does "Americano" actually mean? Is that how Italians say "American"? Or is it only used for the coffee? I've heard in a lot of movies people saying "Americano", this disembag page needs to say something about the actual term "Americano" JayKeaton 07:58, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
