Who's On First?
[edit]The Wikipedia entry on the "American Football Association" asserts that it was the first soccer league in the U.S. This entry asserts that the "American League of Professional Football" was the first soccer league in the U.S. One of these two entries is probably correct. --Neither is correct. The ALPF was the first professional US league. The AFA was the largest, most legitimate organization up to its time - however, there were city leagues being held beforehand. The AFA would not conform to modern notions of a league, either - it was a collection of teams that played a knockout cup competition for the title. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.255.71.156 (talk) 14:25, 24 May 2014 (UTC)
