[edit]American Art Therapy Association -- there is no copyright violation. Our Assn. is 40 years old. I work for the Association, and some months ago we created a new URL : www.americanarttherapyassociation.org to replace the old website and URL (www.artherapy.org). If you go to www.artherapy.org, you will automatically be redirected to the new site....if there are questions, email me at bflorence@arttherapy.org, and I will validate whatever you need me to.
- The problem isn't whether YOU own it, it's that once it's on Wikipedia, it's GFDL content (that is, freely distributable and alterable, with attribution given). If your current copyright isn't compatible with this, it cannot be included.
- Additionally, we don't accept copy-and-pastes are articles at all. This needs a complete rewrite to even approach the inclusion criteria. Wikipedia is not your webhost, and individuals don't have free speech, etc etc, on it. It is an encyclopedia, with rules. --King Öomie 15:41, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
Speedy/hangon
[edit]I've replaced the speedy nomination that the author deleted, but I also replaced the hangon tag since the author appears to be attempting to rewrite the copyvio material. --SquidSK (1MC•log) 15:58, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
I have edited the page to include the old URL, which will eventually redirect visitors to the new URL...I have visited other nonprofit wikipedia pages/sites, like the United Way of America, and it appears they use a similar style of providing basic information about their organization. I think now, the basic description of our organization meets the guidelines. Also, it should be noted that when I first checked out the Am. Art Therapy Association's wikipedia site in May, when interviewing for this job, the page was basically the same as I have it now. And, we were included in the page on 'art therapy'...If the only reason these references have been deleted now is because of a new URL I have inserted, I hope that I can now go back and add relevant information about our association. A discussion on art therapy, which currently includes reference to ATCB, our sister organization that does credentialing for our members, would not really be complete with the leading association of art therapists mentioned in it. - The guideline you're looking for is WP:CORP. The article is written from a first-person plural perspective, which makes it appear to be an unambiguous advertisement. Frankly, I believe the only reason the article stuck around so long is because no one with deletion capability found it. --King Öomie 16:10, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
Third party sources
[edit]Some basic third party sourcing of the group may be found in:
The mentioning of the group seems somewhat in passing, and the fact sheet is from the group itself though.--71.156.89.167 (talk) 00:24, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
Now that the AfD is closed, could some folks without COI please work on improving the article?
[edit]It's outside of my fields of expertise and interest, frankly; but if the group is notable, they deserve a better article than this. --Orange Mike | Talk 13:48, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
